Business & Internship Program
Business & Internship Program
The Global Education Association and professors from Illinois Institute of Technology, University of Illinois at Chicago and Northern Illinois University are pleased to offer the Business and Internship Program for International Students. This is a three-week classroom/internship program in Chicago, with an optional additional week of travel.

In this advanced program, available to both high school and college-age persons, students will participate in an internship project for three weeks, obtaining real-world business experience in the United States and practicing Business English in a work environment. Throughout the program there are tours of locations of interest in Chicago - including museums, universities, business centers, and places of historical importance. At the end of the program there is an optional one week tour of the United States. Students will visit Washington DC, New York City, and Los Angeles California, where they will see some of the most famous sights in America.
The skills developed in this program will give participants the confidence and ability to work with others in an English speaking environment and students will gain an understanding of the American workplace.

English Improvement Detail
To improve the students English skills, GEA has developed a unique approach. Participants are divided into groups of 5 or 6 and each group is assigned a weekly Activities Specialist. The Specialist acts as a tour guide and English tutor for the group, helping to improve each participants speaking and listening skills. Each week the groups receive a new Activities Specialist.
With their Activities Specialist, the groups will tour important Chicago locales, visiting a site within each of these areas of interest: business, universities, museums, history, and architecture. These tours allow students to practice their English with many different Americans, while teaching them something about the culture of America. Activities Specialist are encouraged to bring friends and family with them on the tours so that the students meet and converse with as many native English speakers as possible.
